Shear Family Energy Management/Landman Program Endowed Scholarship
The initial funding of this scholarship endowment is from Chuck and Patti Shear.
Chuck has over 50 years of Landman experience including acquisitions, divestitures, leases, exchanges, joint ventures and drilling partnerships. Chuck started his career with Shell Oil Company and had worked with Inexco Oil Co., a co-founder of B & C Exploration Co., a principal in Mustang Drilling & Exploration CO. and a principal in Rainbow Resources, Inc. where he served as Vice-President of Land and a Director. In 1979 after the sale of Rainbow to the Williams Companies Chuck moved to Grand Junction, CO. where he is involved in all aspects of leasing, prospect generation, and exploration.
Chuck earned his Associate in Business Administration from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CO and his Business Administration Degree from Western State Colorado University in Gunnison, CO.
He is a member of American Association of Petroleum Landmen, Denver Association of Petroleum Landmen and Western Slope Colorado Oil & Gas Association and is a Certified Professional Landman.
The Shears have been instrumental in the success of the Energy Management/Landman program at Colorado Mesa University. They have been long-time patrons of the program and Chuck is a member of the program’s advisory board.
