Mary Rait/Mary Jewell Willsea Endowed Grants Fund

This Endowed Fund was established by AAUW in honor of Mary Rait, the first female Vice­President at MSC. Ms. Rait was one of the first teachers at Mesa Junior Co11ege and was a member of AAUW during the 1970’s and 1980’s. Ms. Mary Jewell Willsea, although not a member of AAUW, strongly supported the concept of a scholarship program to aid non­traditional women students and provided a gift to support this program in her will.
This grant program was established by AAUW to promote women’s education at MSC in accordance with their mission statement, which is to promote educational equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change.
