Knudson Family Endowed Scholarship

The Knudson Scholarship was established by Knute and Sandi Knudson. The Knudsons’ intention for creating this scholarship fund is to help dedicated nursing students receive a quality education at CMU, with the hope that many will remain in western Colorado to meet the increasing health care needs in our communities. The Knudsons have both been active in health organizations, and recognize the increasing health needs of our citizens and the important role of CMU nursing graduates in addressing these needs. (Knute has served as Board Chair of St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction and also as Board Chair of the SCL Health Systems, with hospitals and clinics throughout the western U.S. Sandi worked as the Director of the American Lung Association of Western Colorado for many years, and served on the National Adult and Pediatric Lung Disease Committee of the American Lung Association and as Chair of the Mesa County Board of Health.
