Josh Penry ASG Scholarship

The Fund is being established by the Associated Student Government in recognition of JOSH PENRY. Josh graduated from Mesa State College in 1997 with a major in Political Science. He served as the President of ASG, and during his tenure, he revamped the Constitution and Bylaws. Josh was quarterback for the Mesa State Mavericks, and was named Burger King Athlete of the Year, an honor he competed for nationwide. As a result of this recognition, Burger King donated $135,000 on Josh’s behalf to Mesa State College to be used for scholarships. Josh currently resides in Washington, D.C. and serves as the Chief of Staff for the Subcommittee on Forestry and Timber. He is the youngest individual to hold this position. In addition, he is the former press secretary for Senator Scott McInnis. Josh and his wife, Jamie, recently gave birth to their first child.
