International Student Program Endowed Scholarship

International Student Program Endowed Scholarship

The initial funding of The Scholarship was provided by Max and Helen Krey as part of a larger gift pledged to Colorado Mesa University in 2014. This larger gift of $500,000, given by the Kreys provided $300,000 toward the renovation of the Tomlinson Library and $200,000 for the establishment of the International Student Program Endowed Scholarship.

CMU has a tradition of naming University properties, academic programs and facilities in honor of persons or entities that have contributed financial resources to further the mission of the University. Max Krey has been a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Grand Junction since 1970. He is an ardent believer in the concept of peace through understanding and that understanding can come through education. On May 20, 2015, as a tribute to Max and Helen’s generosity, CMU officially unveiled Rotary Hall on the corner of 12th Street and Elm Avenue. Formerly Elm Hall, the building houses the International Student Admissions and Programs Office.
