Foster Alumni Mentors – Sylvia Aynn Richards Memorial Scholarship

Sylvia Aynn Richards March 24, 2010 – November 9, 2019. Sylvia loved her family, animals, helping others, and loved reading. Her life was taken too soon. She was a part of our family through Foster Alumni Mentors and is forever in our hearts. This scholarship is established in her memory.

Foster Alumni Mentors builds community around foster alumni, those who experienced foster care. We want alumni of foster care to know that they matter, they are not alone, and that they are capable of whatever dreams they want to achieve. Aging out of foster care without a support system is challenging. Foster Alumni Mentors was founded by an alum that aged out of foster care, went on to attend Colorado Mesa University, graduating and giving back to her community so others can do the same.
