Bud Francis Scholarship
The Bud Francis Scholarship was established by the Western Colorado Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. in memory of Bud Francis, the founder of FCI Constructors, Inc. The primary focus of this program is to support and encourage the continued education in construction technology. Bud Francis started Francis Constructors, Inc. with his sons, Larry & Mark in 1978. It is now known as FCI Constructors, Inc. The company has grown to over 300 employees. Bud’s work ethic was second to none. Mr. Francis’s motto in high school was “Before us lies the timber, let us build!” At the age of 21, he built his first big building in Florida. At the age of 24, he built a 24-story building. He worked hard in the trades and construction organizations on labor boards and all the element of job training in construction. He was firm believer in education, and particularly those courses emphasizing safety and craftsmanship in the building trades.
