Back The Badge

Back The Badge

Back the Badge is a not-for-profit corporation whose purpose is to support law Enforcement. Their mission is to provide resources that enhances the safety, training and welfare of law enforcement personnel; and that provide financial assistance to families of injured or fallen law enforcement officers.

They have a vision of a superior, well trained, well supported law enforcement presence in Mesa County. This non-profit ensures families of fallen or injured officers, like Deputy Geer, receive support, while addressing the need for additional equipment and training not covered by federal or state budgets. Nationally, the foundation contributes to programs like C.O.P.S. Kids, Shop with a Cop, and the Colorado National Fallen Heroes Association. Fund allocation will be guided by a cross-functional group, including senior law enforcement advisors, with quarterly grants awarded. Additionally, the foundation partners with GJPD and CMU to implement the R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) program, enhancing student safety through awareness, prevention training, and self-defense techniques.
